В статье рассматриваются некоторые особенности погребального обряда, зафиксированные на отдельных памятниках Юго-Западного Крыма. В ходе изучения полностью раскопанного в 2018 году в пригороде г. Севастополь некрополя Фронтовое 3, был открыт ряд малоизвестных на памятниках римского времени Крыма обрядовых практик. Одной из них, массово выявленной на могильнике, является перекрытие керамических сосудов закрытых форм своеобразными крышками. В статье рассматриваются планиграфические особенности распространения подобной черты обряда, изучается материал крышек, а также обсуждается форма сосудов, которые они перекрывают. Рассматриваются вопросы, связанные с происхождением данного обряда, приводится круг аналогий. В результате изучения этого феномена высказывается мнение о наличии локальных обрядовых приемов у населения, проживавшего в Бельбекской долине в 1-й половине I тысячелетия.
