Конфликт «провинция – центр» в крымском измерении: соперничество Н. И. Репникова и Н. Л. Эрнста за лидерство в изучении средневекового города Эски-Кермен (1927–1929 гг.)

На основе обширного комплекса архивных материалов из центральных архивохранилищ Российской Федерации рассмотрено научное противостояние во второй половине 20-х годов ХХ века авторитетных археологов – представителя столичной интеллектуальной среды Н. И. Репникова и крымского ученого Н. Л. Эрнста. Конфликт, возникший, прежде всего, из-за чрезмерных амбиций первого из них, представлял собой борьбу за прерогативное право Н. И. Репникова на исследование средневекового городища Эски-Кермен и его ближайшей округи. В конфликт, острая фаза которого продолжалась более двух лет, были втянуты не только крупные ученые-историки, но и целый ряд научных организаций Советского Союза, что свидетельствует о его масштабах. Проанализированы причины и предпосылки рассматриваемого столкновения интересов, представлены его итоги и последствия, как для каждого из участников конфликта, так и для дальнейшего изучения памятника.
