Стратиграфия, хронология и периодизация Краскинского городища

За время многолетних исследований городища накопились противоречивые данные о датировке, хронологии и периодизации ключевых объектов на памятнике. Они сформировались на протяжении более, чем 250-летней истории государства Бохай (698–926 гг.) и образовали разновременные строительные горизонты. Раскопки участка жилого квартала вблизи храмового комплекса и фортификационных сооружений сделали возможным соотнести этапы их сооружения и модификации, предложить общую периодизацию и уточнить хронологию городища, учитывая сведения из письменных источников. В первый период существования, когда памятник являлся поселением, жители строили жилища-полуземлянки. В последующие периоды они использовали наземные жилища с канами.
Во второй период началось строительство городских стен из каменных блоков, и сложилась квартальная планировка города; в третий период были построены защитные сооружения ворот и башни; в четвертый период производился существенный ремонт стен; в пятый период стены были перекрыты галечно-земляной насыпью. Во все периоды функционировал буддийский храмовый комплекс.
