Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the battle that has gone down in history as the "Kondurcha Battle". The battle took place at the Kondurcha River in the Krasnoyarsk district of the Samara Oblast. About the place of the battle there are several versions. According to the first of them, the battle took place in the area of Krasny Yar, according to the second version, the place of the battle was located 90-100 kilometres north of the indicated in the first assumption (Sergievsk district), according to the third opinion, the battle took place on the territory of Koshki district (version by Michael Arnoldov).). Taking into account medieval written data and archaeological materials, we assume that the place of collision of two huge armies was a large area, near the confluence of the rivers Kondurcha and Sok. Amir Timur’s military campaign remains the only large-scale campaign in history. This battle predetermined the fate of the Golden Horde, causing its imminent collapse.
