Trade Ties of the Bashkir Ural Area Population in the XIV Century according the Study of the Kashin Pottery

The article presents the results of the study of Kashin ceramics, discovered at settlements of the Golden Horde period in the territory of the Bashkir Pre-Urals, which allowed determining the directions of trade connections of the region's population in the 14th century. Within the framework of the study, 218 fragments of Kashin pottery found at 4 settlements were examined. V.Yu. Koval's methodology was applied for its classification. As a result of the research, it was established that the population of the Bashkir Pre-Urals had strong trade connections with the cities of the Lower and Middle Volga region, Central Asia, and Iran during the Golden Horde period. It is determined that in the first half of the XIV century, the southern vector of trade relations underwent changes and received a new impetus for development. The concentration of the majority of Kashin products found in the Bashkir Pre-Urals on the Podymalovo-1 settlement allowed concluding its high significance in the region's land trade and communication network, which possibly took place along the watershed peaks.
