Abstract

The paper deals with the analysis of metalware hoards of the Bronze Age, found in Crimea and Taman. At the moment, more than 20 of them are known. They are dated to the Middle and Late Bronze Ages (III–II millennia BC). The article analyzes the typological composition of these complexes and attempts to establish the belonging of these findings to certain center of metal production. Some of the Crimean and Taman hoards can be associated with the Caucasus-steppe centers of the Middle and Late Bronze Ages, and some with the North Black Sea points of the Late Bronze Age (Loboikovo-Golourovo). Based on the study of hoards the conclusion is made about the important connecting role of Crimea and Taman as a transit area between the North-West Caucasus, the Lower Dnieper and the Northern Black Sea regions in the Bronze Age.
