Abstract

The article describes the archaeological leather, found during excavations PAE 2008-2010 Shoe findings are divided into groups in accordance with their constructive details: the shoe head, heel wedges podnart, etc. An analysis of the quality and quantity found leather products is carried out. Based on available data, it is impossible to make conclusions about the type of shoes of the inhabitants of Tsarevokokshaisk in the XVIII-XIX centuries, But it is possible to allocate the predominant forms, which are the boots, although common shoes and low forms, which, judging by the size of the sole female. Special attention is paid to children’s shoes. All found items are the same form and design to similar finds in Central Russia during the period under study. The analysis of the finds made of leather demonstrates that all of them, except for one, were created by skilled artisans.
