Archaeological studies at Vodyansk settlement in 2023-2024 revealed several household items related to metallurgical production that existed in 1340-1350s. The excavations provided a collection of red-clay and glazed pottery, copper and silver coins, as well as finds represented by a variety of urban craftsmanship products of the 14th century made of clay, glass, bone, bronze and iron. Jewelry made of semi-precious stones and ornamental minerals was found, as well as a gold signet ring with an Arabic inscription. The materials obtained during the excavations of 2023-2024 confirm that the investigated site was also located within the boundaries of the urban development area of the late 14th century of the Toktamysh Khan period. The excavations clarified and expanded the western boundary of the distribution of this period’s layer in this area of Vodyansk settlement. The excavated areas increased the territory of the investigated coastal line of the settlement, which will prevent the destruction of the cultural layer by bank collapses in this part of the monument for 3-4 years.
