Abstract

The publication presents data on the morphological and functional study of stone items from the Eneolithic part of the Murzikha II burial ground located at the Kama River mouth. The burial equipment included stone tools and throwing weapons as well as jewelry. The conducted functional study allowed the authors to signifi cantly expand the range of implements which were corresponding to representativesof the Ust-Kama burial grounds cultural type. The authors distinguish different tool categories such as chisels, carvers, lanning knives, spoon-bakers, ornaments. It was possible to identify several categories of traces on jewelry surface that refl ect the main stages of their usage. A functional study of stone implements allowed the authors to outline certain areas of economic activity of the early Eneolithic population of the Kama mouth. These areas included the processing of gathering and hunting products, the manufacture of wooden products, and decoration of ceramics.
