Abstract

The article is dedicated to the 70th anniversary of a prominent Russian archeologist and historian V. A. Ivanov – Doctor of historical sciences, Ph. D, currently the Head of the Research Laboratory of Archeological Source Studies and Historiography at the Chair of National History at the Bashkir State Teachers’ Training University named after M. Akmulla. V. A. Ivanov is a an extraordinary researcher and recognized specialist in the fi eld of the archaeology of the Early Iron Age of the South Urals, the Finnish-Ugrian medieval archaeology, and the archaeology of the Golden Horde, the history of the Cossacks, and a renowned popularizer of history. He is the author of over 350 scientifi c papers, popular editions and textbooks. Fifteen of his students have defended their Ph.D. theses.
