Abstract

The paper is dedicated to the jubilee of Yuriy Dmitrievich Obukhov, a director of the Local History Museum of the village of Praskoveya. It outlines the milestones in the researcher's biography.The authors also emphasize the infl uence which his teachers and colleagues have had on his professional development, as well as the role played by the celebrant in the contemporary studies of Madzhar Fortifi ed Settlement – the largest Golden Horde site in the Kuma region.
