Abstract

The paper analyzes the study history, theoretical framework and archaeological materials for the reconstruction of an armament complex of Ulus of Jochi (Golden Horde) warriors. The analysis of material is based on armament items (melee and ranged weapons, protective arms) and their distribution across numerous funerary monuments. On the example of an analysis of the Ulus of Jochi weapon, it is substantiated by the author that the "armament complex" concept is a theoretical construct representing a reconstruction based on a system analysis of archaeological, written and graphic sources for subsequent analysis in the framework of military history and comparative studies.
