Stone and pottery assemblages of the Late Bronze Age of the Ishkinino archaeological microdistrict

This publication presents the results of a traceological study of stone tools and a technical and technological analysis of the pottery assemblage from the Ishkinovka settlement and the Ishkinino mine, located in the Gai district of the Orenburg region, representing a single economic and cultural complex combining mining and metallurgical production and pastoral livestock. During the research, 11 stone tools and 95 fragments of pottery from various vessels originating from the settlement were examined. The study found that the population in this region engaged in mining, metallurgy, and metalworking activities. The analysis of the ceramics indicated the presence of two traditions in selecting raw plastic materials and a predominant use of local mineral rocks for making modelling compounds.
