Abstract

This article provides an overview of the I International scientific and practical seminar "Non-destructive methods in the preservation of objects of historical and cultural heritage sites in Central Asia", held in October 2024 in the city of Termez, Republic of Uzbekistan. The choice of this city was not accidental. Termez and its surroundings, rich in historical and cultural heritage sites, provide an excellent platform for visual demonstration of the use of non-destructive methods in their preservation. The seminar included two blocks: practical sessions featuring masterclasses and roundtable discussions on various topics. Additionally, the program included field visits to significant historical and cultural heritage sites in the Surxondaryo region of Uzbekistan. During the practical sessions, participants gained knowledge and skills in the restoration of pottery and monumental painting, the use of physicochemical methods in metalwork restoration, the use of experimental traceological methods and 3D visualization of objects, analysis and processing of spatial data. The roundtable discussions featured 47 presentations. Following the final review of the presentations and the seminar as a whole, a resolution was proposed and approved.
