The article presents the results of geoinformation analysis of the patterns of spatial distribution of archaeological sites and their localization on the territory of the Mari Volga region. The territory of the Mari Volga region is one of the most significant territories with a large concentration of archaeological sites of various epochs, archaeological cultures. The object of the study was the archaeological sites of such districts of the Republic of Mari El as: Zvenigovsky, Volzhsky and Gornomariysky. It should be noted that sites of all archaeological periods and various archaeological cultures are recorded in the above-mentioned areas. As a result of verification of 128 archaeological sites of the considered regions of the territory of the Mari Volga region, the features of the location and a certain dependence of the localization of archaeological monuments of the territory under consideration on the period of existence were established.
